Darrell Whitt

My name is Darrell Whitt. I am a guitarist/vocalist from Hiawassee GA. I started playing when I was 12. My first band was an Atlanta based metal band called "DAMNAGE". We played many high profile shows in the metal scene from the late 80s to the mid 90s. We opened for many bands (Type O Negative, Vio-Lence, Savatage, etc), as well as played many shows with Stuck Mojo, Nihilist, DIN, Ghost Story, etc. DAMNAGE toured and recorded with intentions of getting a record deal. We actually turned down a multi album deal in 1993 after showcasing at CBGB in NYC. I left DAMNAGE in 94. Soon after I started a band that eventually joined forces with another band and we morphed into "Bugs Meenie". We recorded a full length record that was released in 2000. After touring with Bugs, I took a 14 year break. I formed Whiskey Stills & Mash in 2015. We have released 2 records and have toured with : Molly Hatchet, Blackfoot, etc.I have always been a Gibson or PRS guy, and love simplicity in a guitar. Less is more. I happened upon my LSL T Bone, and it has fast become my #1.

Whiskey Stills & Mash is a culmination of seasoned musicians that came together in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains to make music together that bleeds gut wrenching heart and soul. Our sound is steeped in Southern Rock, and a deep blues richness, but with a distinct heavy edge. We love to play, its what we do. We work very hard to be the best musicians that we can be, and give the best music and performance in every song at every show. WSM writes, records and plays music that echoes the true Southern experience. Playing with, and opening for bands such as Molly Hatchet, Blackfoot, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Quiet Riot, Preacher Stone, Michael Allman, etc. Our new single "Blood Mountain" features guest vocals with Jimmy Elkins (Molly Hatchet). Johnny Lee Middleton is the original and current bass player for Trans Siberian Orchestra, and the band Savatage.
