Guitar Brothers

LSL Instruments is excited to tell our fans about all the dealers worldwide that support us and make it possible for you to try and own our handcrafted guitars, pickups and pedals! We will be showcasing LSL dealers in our new ongoing dealer spotlight series of articles through the year! Be sure to email us any special requests for dealers you’d like to learn more about and we’ll do our best to oblige!

This weeks dealer spotlight is Guitar Brothers in Brisbane Australia. We’d like to start by saying that Craig and Dave are a true joy to work with. When you deal with them, you are dealing with decades of real MI industry experience. They proudly stock the full line of LSL products including Custom models, One Series models, vintage and modern style instruments, exotic tops and all aging levels. Guitar Brothers has the full line of LSL pedals in stock along with our hand wound pickups as well. In this day and age it has become harder and harder to find dedicated dealers who take pride in their partnerships and have a real 50/50 relationship with their builders. We can say that Craig and his team are this kind of partner.

Their knowledgeable sales staff is very familiar with our instruments and ready to serve, and their tech service staff is well trained. They are the only place in Australia where you can walk in and try a little bit of everything we make. If they don’t have it in stock they are able to custom order anything and everything we build for you no problem. We have nothing but good things to say about this top tier dealer. We’ve even had the pleasure of building Craig the Owner 2 of his own personal LSL’s! He’s not only an LSL dealer, he’s a fan and an owner! Can’t beat that folks!

Let’s have a look at the Guitar Brothers Bio!

The Guitar Brothers story begins in the early 2000’s when at the time owner Craig Claxton was working for an Australian national chain of music stores. Unhappy with the “cookie cutter” direction they were going he decided to leave and setup his own dream guitar store in Red Hill, Brisbane. Australia

Craig has over 50 years of guitar playing experience which includes over 2000 live gigs and many recording sessions. His lifelong love of guitar grew into him opening 'Guitar Brothers' Australia's premier guitar shop in 2006.

Guitar Brothers has become a destination for international and local guitarists alike. Stocking some of the world's finest new and vintage guitar gear, as well as teaching and running guitar workshops. G.B. workshops have included many legendary guitarists including Robben Ford, Mike Stern, Nick Johnston, Louie Shelton, Phil Emmanuel, Eric Johnson, The Hellecasters, Billy Sheehan, Tony McManus, Kirk Lorange, Jim Kelly, Rex Goh, James Muller, Michael Fix, Flying Burrito Brother John Beland, Tim Gaze and many more..

Craig Says:

“I’ve always loved traveling to the USA and visiting many great guitar stores and shows. I felt there was a place for a US style specialist guitar shop that offered not only the big name brands, but also some of the incredible boutique brands of guitars, amps and pedals that are on the market but not necessarily available in Australia,"

“I found this incredible location for Guitar Brothers about 2 mins from the Brisbane CBD. The building that Guitar Brothers is located in was built around 1890. It’s unique for many reasons, not the least of which is the 20’ high cathedral ceilings.Perfect for displaying lots of Guitars!”

“Guitar Brothers have a fantastic team who really go above and beyond to make the customer experience easy and enjoyable. As Guitar Specialists we take great care & pride in the selection of instruments that we stock.

“LSL fits in our inventory perfectly. Each instrument is master built with incredible attention to detail.

The choice of woods, finishes, hand wound pickups and build quality result in superb tones and playability.”

Craig’s personal number one guitar is an LSL Soledad with a P90 in the neck position and a splittable humbucker in the bridge.

“Whilst in the studio one guitar can’t necessarily do everything, the Soledad is so incredibly versatile that it’s the only guitar I need to take to gigs” said Craig. “I also bought an LSL Baribone baritone guitar. It’s the Adam Christianson  signature model. Other baritones just weren’t anywhere near the standard of the LSL"

With around 20 LSL guitars plus a selection of LSL pickups and new pedals available in stock, Guitar Brothers are very proud to be an Authorized LSL Dealer. If we don’t have exactly what you’re looking for, we are also very happy to help our customers order their dream LSL guitar.
